Verder UNC, dus UNC- of About Uncirculated.

Dated 16 october 1944, In circulation mid november 1944, until the post WW-II monetary reform, 26th September 1945. Due to high demand and shortage of printing capacity, the
Issued by the Ministry of Finance. (So it is not a banknote, but a silver certificate, issued to supplement the shortage of coinage during WW-II.)
The semi-finished products, such as the green, brown, and orange underprint, were printed by Johan Enschedé, while the black letterpress printing (including signatures, titles, and numbering) was carried out by three different firms. As a result, minor differences in typesetting can be observed /Like No in curly italics, straight font with serif and even a variety without `No` at all. In addition to printers De Bussy and Joh. Enschedé, the printer Hoitsema was also involved.

During World War II, Meinoud Rost van Tonningen served as Secretary-General of the Ministry of Finance and President of the Dutch Central Bank. A fervent Nazi collaborator, he oversaw massive financial transfers to Germany. He was widely regarded by the Dutch population as a traitor due to his radical pro-German stance and active role in the occupation regime. As a result these silver certificates were not at all popular during and post WW-II.

Thanks for the detailed technical explaination. I have had much interest in Zilverbon since I first seen them on Ebay. I found one for a dollar at a local coin dealer and a few days ago I went to a coin show to ask a banknote specialist if he had any but all the NL stuff was occupation or newer it seems. I was looking for a bond from Netherlands East Indies from the late 1930s that has a picture of a 1 Gulden on the front but he didn't have any. Graded UNC on the Bay was USD $130 or so shipped.
